  • HS Placement packet
      1. Your family
      ○    What are their names and ages?
      ○    What are does each one like, dislike?
      ○    What do they do? What are their jobs or hobbies?
      ○    Write about an activity you did with a family member last summer. → preterit and imperfect
      ○    Tell about the future plans of someone → future tense
      1. Your favorite foods
      ○    What do you eat for breakfast? What did you eat yesterday?→ preterit and imperfect
      ○    What foods do you like/dislike? Why? ○   
      • Write about a meal you had at a restaurant.
      • What did you order for each course and how much did it cost? → higher / cost numbers & “to order” (pedir)
      • Did you like the meal?
      ○    Tell whether or not you would go there again and if you would recommend it to your friends.

      ○    Make sure your story includes characters, a setting, a problem, and a solution.
      ○    Include details about your story elements to make your story more interesting.
      ○    You may include verbs in the present, past, and/or future tense.
      1. Physical Descriptions and Personality Traits
      ○    Write about two to three people.  They can be someone you know, someone famous, someone made up, or even yourself.
      ○    Include at least three physical descriptions for each person.
      ○    Describe their personalities, likes and dislikes, things they like to do.
      ○    Add any information that you think is important to know about the people you’re describing.

     Hola, y ¡feliz septiembre!  ¡Aquí está la presentación que usamos de hoy!   Here is our agenda for today:
    • Calentamiento: 
      • ¡Saquen ustedes la tarea!
        • If you have them, take out your yellow TODO SOBRE YO packet and/or your blue  syllabus and turn in the SIGNED BACK PAGE!
      • Also, TAKE OUT your white sheet from FRIDAY --  DAY 2: VERB BOOT CAMP!
    • Let's keep going on the DAY 2 sheet: 
      • How do verbs change in Spanish?
      • A: Figure out the _action  word:  Write or underline the verb! 
      • T: Figure out the _tense_ :  Past, Present, or Future tense.
        • This year, we’re going to be talking about Present tense ONLY,  but there are other tenses you will learn in later Spanish classes!
      • T: _Take _ _off_  the _ending _   :  Remember, the three different kinds of endings of the infinitive verbs in Spanish are _AR    _._ ER  and _IR  
        • The part of the verb left over when you take off its ending is called the stem of the verb!
      • A: __Add       __ on the correct ending for that tense and the person you’re talking about! 
      • C: __Conjugate__ the verb!  
      • then, K: Write your sentence w/ words you __KNOW__!

        • We’re going to MARCH AROUND IN A RIDICULOUS/SUPER FUN KINDERGARTEN-STYLE TRAIN and actually say, in Spanish, the CONJUGATIONS of different verbs.
          • YES, you have to.
        • It’s harder than you might think!!
          • We are only using this time to conjugate; no side conversations, please!
      • FINALLY, VERB PRACTICE GAME
        • Can you name each one of these verbs going from Spanish to English?
